Quick Answer

The Content Writer drafts SEO content in four modes (Create New, Rephrase, Beat Competitor, Merge Pages) with the credit total shown before you generate; free meta/title/excerpt/social add-ons, +8 credits for a FAQ section with real FAQPage schema.

The Content Writer drafts SEO content with AI in four modes - from a blank keyword brief to rewriting what a competitor ranks with - and manages everything in a Content Library you can edit, regenerate, and export. It runs standalone at /content-writer/ or inside a project, where drafts sit next to the rankings they're meant to move.

The Four Modes

  • Create New - fresh content from your keyword, brief, and options. The everyday mode.
  • Rephrase Existing - rewrites content you paste in, with a tone control (keep the same tone or shift it).
  • Beat Competitor - point it at a competitor page; it analyzes what's ranking and drafts content built to outdo it.
  • Merge Pages - combines overlapping pages into one stronger piece, the natural follow-up to a cannibalization fix.

Pick the starting mode when you create a piece; you can switch modes on an existing piece in the editor.

Options and Costs

The editor shows the exact credit total before you generate, updating as you toggle options:

  • Free add-ons - meta description, SEO page title, excerpt, and social share text ride along at no extra cost.
  • FAQ Section - +8 credits, generates a question-and-answer block and folds it into proper FAQPage structured data in the piece's Meta tab (not just visible text).
  • Generation cost varies by mode - Beat Competitor costs more than Create New because it also fetches and analyzes the competitor page.

Nothing generates until you click, and the total is always in front of you first.

The Content Library

Every piece lives in the library list with its mode, word count, and status - sortable, searchable, and reopenable in the editor. From a project, the library is scoped to that project, which keeps client work separated.

Fed by the Other Tools

The Content Writer is the destination for opportunities the rest of the platform finds:

  • Prospects content actions turn keyword and content gaps into briefs.
  • Search Console Intelligence signals deep-link into the writer with a brief pre-filled from the underperforming query.
  • Keyword Research tells you what to write for in the first place, and the AIO structure guide covers making the output citable.

From Draft to Published

Generated content is a starting draft, deliberately editable: review it in the editor, adjust facts and voice, then copy it into your CMS. Add your target keyword to the Rank Tracker before publishing so the position history starts at day one.

FAQ

What does generation cost?
It depends on the mode and options; the editor shows the exact total before you generate. The FAQ section is +8 credits, while meta description, SEO title, excerpt, and social text are free add-ons.

Do I need a project?
No - the standalone Content Writer works account-wide. Projects add scoping and the deep links from Prospects and Intelligence signals.

Is the FAQ output real structured data?
Yes. The FAQ option produces a FAQPage schema node in the piece's Meta tab, ready to ship with the content rather than pasted as loose text.
