Backlink Checker

Discover your backlink profile with NitroShock. Identify quality links, broken links, and opportunities for improvement.

See which sites link to a domain, what they say in the anchor, and which of those links are worth anything.

LIGHT SCAN

A quick one-time snapshot of any domain: backlink totals, top referring domains and anchor text. Per-domain toxicity analysis, disavow tools and ongoing monitoring are part of the full audit inside a project.

Uses 10 credits per light scan. Results are not saved.

This was the light scan. A full audit in a project adds per-domain toxicity scoring across your whole referring-domain list, the disavow workflow, new/lost tracking with a 12-month trend, and scheduled monitoring.

What You Get

Enter a domain and the checker returns the referring domains pointing at it, the specific pages linked, the anchor text used, and whether each link passes signals or is marked nofollow or sponsored.

Referring domains matter more than link counts. A thousand links from one site is one relationship. Forty links from forty sites is forty. Any report leading with a total link number is leading with the least informative figure it has.

Reading the Output

Checker output, one domain
REFERRING DOMAINS 184
TOTAL LINKS 2,910 (one site sends 1,740)

TOP REFERRING DOMAINS
  news-site.com dofollow /blog/tools-roundup
  directory.io nofollow /listings/acme
  forum.dev dofollow thread reply
  partner.co dofollow /customers/

ANCHOR TEXT
  brand name 62%
  bare URL 21%
  generic ("here") 11%
  descriptive phrase 6%

LINK ATTRIBUTES
  dofollow 71% nofollow 24% sponsored 5%

The line worth reading twice is the one in brackets. Two thousand nine hundred links across a hundred and eighty-four domains, with a single site contributing seventeen hundred of them, means the headline number describes one sitewide footer link rather than a link profile.

The anchor breakdown is unremarkable and that is the point. A profile dominated by brand mentions and bare URLs is what an organically acquired one looks like. A profile heavy with descriptive commercial phrases usually means somebody bought them.

No Index Sees Everything

Every third-party backlink tool, including this one, works from its own crawl of the web. None of them sees every link, all of them find links the others miss, and comparing totals between tools measures crawl coverage rather than reality.

For your own site, Search Console is the authoritative source, because it reports what Google actually found. Use a third-party tool for the thing Search Console cannot do, which is look at somebody else's domain.

That is the honest framing, and it is why competitor analysis is the real use for this. Checking your own links here when Google will tell you directly is spending credits on a worse answer.

Questions

Why do tools disagree on link counts?
Different crawls, different indexes. Disagreement is expected and is not a sign one is wrong.

Do nofollow links matter?
They send traffic and they signal that the relationship exists. Treating them as worthless is a simplification.

Should I disavow bad links?
Rarely. Disavowing is easy to get wrong and search engines ignore most low-quality links without being asked.

What does it cost?
It runs on credits, not a subscription, and credits never expire.

Start with your own domain. A link profile you recognise is the only way to judge whether the toxicity scoring is reading your links the way you would.
