Competitor Tracking Setup
The Competitors tab discovers rival domains, tracks up to 20 per target with overlap, traffic and backlink metrics, and compares them over time. Up to five tracked competitors per target also appear as Rank Tracker columns.
The Competitors tab in a project shows how rival domains stack up against yours: how much your keywords overlap, how visible they are, and how they compare over time. Up to five of the competitors you track on a target also appear as columns in the Rank Tracker, next to your own positions.
Discover Competitors
Open your project's Competitors tab and click Discover Competitors. NitroShock pulls up to 50 domains that compete with yours in the project's country, ranked by how much they overlap with your keywords. Discovery charges credits each time you run it, and the cost is shown before you start.
To look up a domain's competitors without a project, use the standalone Competitor Lookup.
Track Competitors
Click + Track on any discovered domain, or add one by hand with an optional display name. You can paste a full address; NitroShock strips https:// and trailing slashes for you. Each tracking target can track up to 20 competitors, and they are shared with everyone on your team who can see the project.
Tracking itself is free, but NitroShock fetches each tracked domain's backlink count once when you add it, which charges credits.
Your own site appears first, then a card for each competitor showing Overlap, Shared KW, Avg Pos, Est. Traffic, Traffic Value, Domain Rank and Backlinks. The trash icon removes a domain from the project entirely.
Tracked competitors refresh automatically, weekly by default. Each refresh charges credits only after it succeeds, and is skipped if your balance is too low.
Compare Domains
The Competitor Comparison chart switches between Traffic, Keywords, Traffic Value and Backlinks, for your tracked competitors or for all discovered ones.
Competitors in the Rank Tracker
The first five competitors you track on a target appear as columns in the Rank Tracker, so you can see their position for each of your keywords: green where you outrank them, red where they outrank you. Manage the columns with + Add and the cross on each competitor chip. Removing a chip only removes the column; the competitor stays tracked on the Competitors tab.

- To see the keywords a competitor ranks for, open Keywords, then the Competitor Keywords sub-tab.
- To find the keywords and content where competitors beat you, use Prospects.

What costs credits?
Running Discover Competitors, the one-time backlink count when you track a domain, and each successful automatic refresh. Each cost is shown before you confirm.
Can my team see the competitors I add?
Yes. Competitors belong to the project, so everyone who can open the project sees them.
