Site Builder v1.3.0 - Contact Details, Locked Pages and a Sidebar That Listens

September 19, 2026
v1.3.0

The Site Builder wizard collects your contact details and logo, pages can be locked against imports, imported pages keep their own styles, and the sidebar finally does what its setting says.

Site Builder wizard

  • Contact details step - the wizard asks for a phone number, email and address. It is optional, and it appears whether you are rebuilding an existing site or starting from scratch. What you type is used in the header and footer, and it wins over anything the scan of your old site found.
  • Logo step - pick a logo from the media library. A logo you choose is never replaced by one scraped from the old site. Leave it empty and the header uses a text word-mark.
  • Menus on from-scratch builds - a site built from scratch used to get every page in the header menu, including the privacy and terms pages and the page the header button already links to, while the footer and legal menus stayed empty. The header now lists the main pages, the footer repeats them, and legal pages sit in their own row at the bottom.
  • Credits for generated content - sections and articles created by the Site Builder now use credits when they are generated, the same way the Page Builder's AI tools do. Earlier versions of the theme did not charge for builds.

Site import

  • Pages keep their own styles - a style block inside an imported page becomes that page's own CSS, and an inline script after the content becomes its page JS. Page-specific styling used to be dropped without a word. The import summary now says how many pages contributed styles and scripts.
  • Locked pages - a page can be marked as locked so a full-site import never overwrites it, moves it or rolls it back. Links that point to it from imported pages still resolve correctly. Useful for a hand-built page whose address also exists in the imported package.
  • Structured data survives the import - importing used to rewrite the schema.org context inside a page's structured data to the site's own address, which made it invalid. The context is left alone, addresses from the old site are rewritten to the new one, and imported schema joins the single ShockMeta graph instead of printing a second, disconnected block.
  • Imported design takes over on a fresh install - a full-site import on a new site did not switch it to imported design mode, so the brand preset kept overriding the imported look. It switches now, and an imported header and footer load their CSS and JS site-wide.

Layout

  • Sidebar setting respected everywhere - search results and archive pages showed the sidebar even on a site set to No sidebar. Every template now reads the one setting.
  • No sidebar by default on imported designs - an imported page is built for the full width, so a site running an imported design starts with no sidebar. Choosing a position under Customizer, Layout Options still overrides this.
  • Layout Options box removed - the per-page sidebar box is gone from the editor. Use the Customizer for the whole site, or the Full Width template for a single page. A value saved with the old box keeps working.
  • Imported headers no longer stretched - a theme layout rule could stretch an imported header that reused one of the theme's class names into a full-height column. The rule now applies only to the theme's own wrapper.
