Page Builder v0.8.1 - Fixes

A fix release: four site-wide side effects are gone, fresh installs get a working component library, the Component Studio stops overwriting the component you were editing, and the library gains a real Trash.

Your other pages are left alone

  • No more dashboard redirect - a page with the slug "dashboard" sent logged-out visitors to /login/. That check belonged to nitroshock.ai's own dashboard and has been removed from the plugin.
  • Links keep their attributes - target, rel and title survive WordPress's content sanitizer again. SVG support had replaced the allowed link attributes instead of adding to them, so author and contributor saves lost rel="nofollow" and target="_blank".
  • Paragraphs after a builder page - a builder page used to switch off paragraph formatting for everything rendered after it in the same request. Blog indexes, archives, widgets and related-post lists keep their paragraphs now.
  • Pages only - the "Build this page with NitroShock" box no longer appears on posts, where ticking it removed the post editor without opening the builder.

Component Library

  • Get the components you want, not all of them - Sync Library, which downloaded every nitroshock.ai component into your library, is replaced by Get components. The new NitroShock library tab shows each published component with a live preview in your site's own styles, a category filter and search. Add puts one in your library, Update appears when a newer copy is published on nitroshock.ai, and Add all is still there for anyone who wants the lot. In the page editor's Insert panel, the category dropdown gains a From nitroshock.ai group that lists every online category with its count. Pick one to see those components with a preview, Add the ones you want, then drag them onto the page from their category.
  • Library components work on any theme - in Site styles mode on a theme other than NitroShock, library components used to render as unstyled text, because nothing defined the classes and colour tokens they are built on. A scoped component layer now loads on builder pages and in every preview: only the ns-* class rules and tokens, with the token values taken from your theme's own body, heading and link styles. Your theme's typography is not touched.
  • Favorites and Duplicate work from day one - a fresh install created the components table without the columns the library relies on, so the old Sync Library, the favorite toggle, the Favorites, Custom and Imported tabs and Duplicate all failed. The table is created complete, and an install that is missing the columns gets them on its next admin page load.
  • A real Trash - Delete moves a component to the Trash tab, where Restore brings it back. A second Delete there, or Empty Trash, removes it for good. Trashed components disappear from the Studio list and the builder's insert panel.
  • Honest numbers - "Used: N times" and the Most Used sort count real insertions. A tab click loads once instead of twice, and the pagination line no longer shows placeholder numbers.
  • Quiet re-activation - deactivating and re-activating the plugin no longer logs duplicate-key errors.

Component Studio

  • Tags are saved - tags typed into the Studio were dropped on save. They are stored and come back when the component is reopened.
  • New sources start a new component - Extract Component, From Template, Import and Blank kept the id of the component you had open, so the next Save overwrote it. Each now starts a new, unsaved component.
  • After the first save - the address bar points at the Component Studio screen (a reload used to land on an error page), Save As New and Share to Library appear straight away, and the leave-page warning no longer fires when nothing is unsaved.
  • Settings that do something - "Validate code before saving" blocks a save with unclosed tags, unmatched braces or JavaScript syntax errors, and "Auto-save while editing" saves five seconds after the last change once the component has been saved by hand. Both checkboxes were unwired before.
  • Extract, format, share, preview - "HTML Only" extract keeps your CSS and JS instead of emptying every editor, Format Code uses the proper formatter on every tab, Share to Library waits for the save to finish before submitting, and the preview applies your Brand Settings colours and type on top of the preset.
  • Chat history returns - the AI chat's conversation for a saved component is restored when you reopen it.
  • Import and export agree on tags - exported JSON lists tags as an array, and Import accepts both that and the old comma string, so a 0.8.0 export no longer fails with "Invalid JSON format".

AI chat

  • Images from the start - the attach-image button is enabled as soon as the chat opens with Sonnet selected; you no longer have to switch models to wake it up.
  • Readable errors - a low balance or an oversized attachment shows the actual message instead of "Error: [object Object]", and Send is disabled while a reply is pending.
  • Correct badges and limits - Opus replies are badged Opus, and the image limit is the same everywhere: 3 images, 4 MB total.

AI panel and settings

  • Insert Components works again - the Insert Components mode crashed with a fatal error on every run in 0.8.0.
  • Social Share Text can be saved - the Meta tab field has an Update button. With ShockMeta active it becomes the page's Open Graph description; otherwise it is stored with the page.
  • Beat Competitor uses what it shows - the competitor analysis in the panel and your Site Profile are now sent along with the brief. The Site Profile screen says which modes read it.
  • Editors and code tools - Credits and Settings has a Permissions card to let the Editor role use the CSS and JS tabs, the Header, Footer and CSS code fields, and section capture. The setting existed before on a screen nothing rendered.
  • Recharge link and icon - the AI panel's low-balance link opens Credits and Settings instead of a missing page, and the credits badge uses an icon rather than an emoji.

Works alongside your theme

  • Knows which theme it is on - on the NitroShock theme nothing changes. On any other theme the plugin now confines itself to the pages you build with it.
  • Your header and footer survive - builder pages used to drop WordPress's core block and global styles, which broke a block theme's header, navigation and footer on those pages. They are kept on third-party themes.
  • The preset stays in its lane - the design preset's body, heading and link rules are served scoped to the builder content, so they cannot restyle the theme's own chrome.
  • Fonts where you want them - brand fonts load on builder pages only. Brand Settings, Typography has a new "Apply brand fonts to the whole site" switch for sites that want them everywhere.
  • Lighter admin and front end - the AI panel assets and the rephrase helper load only when the builder is open, and the media library scripts load only on builder pages instead of on every page for every editor.
  • SVG uploads - limited to administrators by default. SVG Manager has an "Uploads by" setting to allow anyone who can upload files.
  • Clearer Design mode - the two options are now "NitroShock framework" and "Site styles". In Site styles mode the Brand Settings tabs that are not applied are marked "not used", with a one-line note and a switch back.

Brand Settings

  • Save button feedback - the Save button shows Saving, Saved and Error states again. It sits outside the form and the script never found it.
  • Brand colour utilities on the live site - the .text-brand-* and .bg-brand-* classes referenced variables that only existed in the admin, so on the published page they fell back to nothing. The page now defines them, every utility has a fallback, and the accent fallback matches the editor.
  • Modernize follows Brand Settings - modernised pages used to hardcode the hex colours of the day. Modernize now writes CSS variables with fallbacks, so the page updates when you change the palette, and it uses the real accent colour for calls to action rather than the pale highlight tint.
  • Site assets - Brand Settings, Advanced tab: Rescan lists the stylesheets and scripts your theme and plugins load on the front end, each with a checkbox. Ticked items load in the page editor, Component Studio and Component Library previews, so on a theme other than the NitroShock theme a component looks the way it will on your site. Published pages already load them through the theme.
  • Inline styles and script-loaded stylesheets - the scan also lists the style blocks a theme prints into the page (Customizer colours, Additional CSS) and stylesheets a theme adds from a script, so a theme that keeps its colours in the Customizer previews correctly. Ticked inline blocks are re-read from the front page once an hour, so colour changes reach the previews without a rescan. A Preview CSS box takes anything the scan cannot see, for the previews only. In Site styles mode the Design mode card shows the scan state with a Set up Site assets button.
  • External assets - one stylesheet or script URL per line, for a CDN library or a font link the theme does not load. These load in the three previews and on published builder pages. Administrators only.
  • No duplicate font requests - a brand Google Font the theme or an External assets line already loads is not requested a second time.
  • The AI knows your theme - with Site assets ticked, the AI chat in the Studio and the page editor, Create New, Beat Competitor, Modernize, Merge Pages and the Studio's AI component generator all receive a compact summary of the theme's real styles: custom properties, typography, link and button rules, container widths. Generated markup matches the site instead of a generic palette.
  • Studio AI generation works again - the Component Studio's generate button called the article endpoint, which rejected every request in 0.8.0. It now calls the component endpoint and bills what the worker reports.
  • Insert Components preview - the AI panel's component preview came from a request that failed and showed bare markup. It now renders in an isolated frame with the same stylesheets the published page loads.
  • Theme style extraction removed - it never ran, and Site assets replaces guessed values with the real stylesheets.

Page editor

  • Paragraph colour follows your theme - with Site assets ticked, the editor canvas no longer paints every paragraph and heading in the Brand Settings text colour over the theme's own rule. In Site styles mode the preview frames leave brand colours out, as the published page does.
  • Undo and redo - the HTML, CSS and JS tabs use the code editor's own history, the visual canvas has its own stack, and Ctrl+Z and the toolbar buttons act on whichever tab is active. Visual undo used to honour only the first press, and redo never changed the canvas.
  • Leftover page templates - saving a builder page whose page template came from a previous theme no longer fails with "Save failed: Invalid page template."
  • Icon alignment - icons sit centred in the meta pane and component library buttons.
