Quick Answer

Install the NitroShock plugin via the WordPress Plugins screen, then go to NitroShock → Credits & Settings and enter your API key from nitroshock.ai to connect your account.

Getting NitroShock Page Builder running on your WordPress site takes two steps: installing the plugin and connecting it to your NitroShock.ai account with an API key.

Requirements

  • WordPress 5.6 or higher
  • PHP 7.4 or higher
  • A NitroShock.ai account (free to create at nitroshock.ai)

Step 1 — Install the Plugin

  1. In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin.
  2. Search for NitroShock.
  3. Click Install Now, then Activate.

After activation, a NitroShock ⚡ menu item appears in the WordPress admin sidebar with sub-pages for Component Studio, Component Library, Credits & Settings, Brand Settings, Site Profile, SVG Manager, and SEO Settings.

Step 2 — Get Your API Key

  1. Log in to your account at nitroshock.ai.
  2. Navigate to your account settings.
  3. Copy your API key.

If you do not yet have an account, create one for free. No credit card is required at signup.

Step 3 — Connect the Plugin

  1. In WordPress, go to NitroShock → Credits & Settings.
  2. Paste your API key into the NitroShock API Key field.
  3. Click Save & Connect.

When connected, the page shows your current credit balance and account status. The plugin syncs credits from NitroShock.ai automatically before any AI action.

Step 4 — Optional: Configure Site Profile

For best AI content results, fill in NitroShock → Site Profile:

  • Company Name — injected into all AI prompts so generated copy reflects your brand.
  • Website Purpose — a brief description of what your site does (e.g., "a plumbing company serving the Seattle area").
  • Location — country, state, city. Used for location-aware AI content.

These settings are optional but noticeably improve AI output quality.

Verifying the Installation

  1. Go to NitroShock → Component Studio — the editor should load without errors.
  2. Go to NitroShock → Component Library — the library grid should display.
  3. Open any WordPress page in the editor and look for the NitroShock Page Builder meta box below the content editor.

Common Questions

What if the Credits & Settings page shows a connection error?

Double-check the API key was copied in full with no extra spaces. Also verify your server can make outbound HTTP requests to nitroshock.ai — some managed hosts block outbound connections by default.

Can I use the plugin without an API key?

You can manually edit HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in Component Studio without a key. All AI features require a connected account with credits.
