The Role
10-15 hours per week, fully remote. You'll work independently with clear deliverables and be available for occasional emergencies.
Immediate projects include:
- MySQL database architecture and migration
- Automated backup systems with off-site storage
- Security hardening and monitoring
- Performance optimization
Ongoing responsibilities:
- Database administration and scaling
- Server maintenance (Ubuntu/HestiaCP)
- Security monitoring and incident response
- Infrastructure documentation
Requirements
- Strong MySQL/MariaDB administration experience
- Linux server management (Ubuntu preferred)
- Backup and disaster recovery implementation
- Security hardening for web applications
- Experience with WordPress infrastructure (not just theme development)
- Ability to work independently and communicate clearly
- Available for occasional emergency response
Nice to Have
- Cloudflare Workers experience
- CI/CD pipeline setup
- Monitoring and alerting systems
- Previous SaaS infrastructure experience
